Everywhere is so very dry now but rain is on its way later in the week.

The Swallows are well and truly in, over two hundred over at Bardsey on Saturday, I have a Chiffchaff nest in my garden, I never realised that they nest so low.

Your very own chiffchaff nest: you lucky thing.

The rain has already started here, but it will take quite a bit to get everywhere wet enough not to go up in flames.

For the second time this week a Sedge Warbler was singing in the thick blackthorn hedge at the back of the garden in Morfa Nefyn. No suitable breeding habitat anywhere near. Love migration!

Big arrival of Sedge and Reed Warblers to Conwy RSPB today. After the rain stopped 2 Garganeys, 52 Whimbrels, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Grasshopper Warblers, Whinchat and plenty of Swifts and hirundines were seen. Lots of migrants still coming through.
