This morning up here a good dozen Wheatears passed through,also a Lesser Whitethroat,a loan Fieldfare and a Grasshopper Warbler all noted.

This morning i got cracking views of a pair of Hawfinch up here,always superb birds to see especially on my local patch.Also a neat sprinkling of Wheatear passed through.Also my first Orange Tips of the year were noted in style.

This morning a cracking male Redstart was up here singing on the top woodland,also a singing Lesser Whitethroat and singing Sedge Warbler.A few Wheatear passed through as did 4 Redpoll.Yesterday a Yellow Wagtail flew overhead and a steady trickle of Wheatear passed through.A Tree Pipit was also noted as were 7 Siskin.

Atleast 2 Juv Green Woodpeckers have been hanging around up here for the last 2 days.Surely only a matter of time before they breed up here again.

I think they are trying to spread from nearby as the crow flies Henry,they breed behind Conwy,above Old Colwyn near Dawn and Dolwen and of course the Conwy Valley,they seem to be about to spread out.Maybe next year a pair will settle here.

Ok that's interesting. Yes the population in the Conwy valley seems to be doing better in the last few years. There are several occupied sites that I know of and probably a fair few more that I don't know of!

And yes Henry the 2 Juv Green Woodpeckers are still up here,showing really well this morning,feeding,calling and flying around.So there is real hope of them breeding up here sooner than later.
